The Golf Car
If you think about it a golf car is a vehicle designed with one thing in mind. Playing Golf and no there is nothing wrong with that. But what is meant by that statement is that the battery chargers are meant to charge a set a batteries overnight and the batteries to be completely discharged during the joy of playing golf the next day, and repeat this cycle 7 days a week. The Power output of a golf car is for the golfer to hit a ball jump in the car push the pedal to the floor and zoom to the next hole. Very few people drive half speed to the next hole and golf car manufacturers don't want you to. The problems with the design is if we don't use the golf car every day, then the charger turns on when we plug it in and it charges till the batteries are fully charged and shuts off. If we don't drive it for 4 or 5 days then the batteries are not at their full charge state and the outcome is batteries only last 2-3 years if you are lucky. The other problem is that the electronics are designed to accelerate fast and then taper the speed off. This is designed to help the car get 2 golf bags and 2 passengers moving but it slows off to assure the country club has enough battery power to go 36 holes.
The Atomic difference
At Atomic Electric Vehicles we wanted to solve some of the shortfalls that we had seen with golf carts. So we designed a tubular style frame to give better protection to the occupants. And to provide a sports car feel we have incorporated an automotive suspension with 12" alloy wheels and tires. We used a sealed battery so there is no need to add water. The battery charger is a smart charger that assures the batteries receive a balanced charge.
To give a car-like feeling we incorporated a panoramic view by using a Lexan product for the doors. And to aid in getting in and out of the car we incorporated what Lincoln coined as the suicide door.
And to help in keeping the occupants stay comfortable in all weather conditions we have introduced the first LSV with Air Conditioning and Heat!
All cars come standard with
